Pet Travel
Ready to travel with your pet?
We encourage our clients to be properly informed and equipped with the proper documentation, medications, and flight information before traveling with your pet!
Central West End Veterinary Hospital offers Domestic and International Health Certificate services to facilitate your pet’s travel requirements. These services are mandated by the USDA and APHIS websites, ensuring compliance with the necessary guidelines for international travel.
To begin, our veterinarian will conduct a thorough consultation where they will discuss the specific guidelines and requirements for the country you intend to visit with your pet. Scheduling this consultation is flexible, and you can do so well in advance. We kindly request you to complete this form, providing details such as your departure date, location, airline, and reason for travel.
During the consultation, any required vaccines will be administered as needed. For certain destinations, an up-to-date Rabies Titre test might be necessary. We can perform this test at our facility and then coordinate with Kansas State University for processing. The actual health certificate documentation, which is a requirement for most countries, should be completed within a 10-day window prior to your departure. You can conveniently schedule this step during your consultation.
Our veterinarian will also offer estimates for the remaining visits related to the health certificate process, ensuring transparency and a well-informed journey for you and your pet. Our goal is to make this process as smooth and stress-free as possible for both you and your furry companion.
Domestic Travel Certification
In order to ensure that your pets are healthy enough to travel safely with no communicable or regional diseases found, a domestic Health Certificate is required by many states and airlines Each airline has a different set of criteria, so you will want to research the specific requirements that will apply to your situation. Central West End Veterinary Hospital is able to issue official Health Certificates to our patients following a regular exam.
International Travel Certification
If you’re leaving the country, you will likely need special USDA or EU documents or Rabies titer testing. These special forms usually must be issued within 10 days of travel and stamped at the local USDA office.
As a USDA-accredited veterinary practice, Central West End Veterinary Hospital can provide the travel documentation necessary for international travel.
